Emergency Disclaimer

Digital Doctor is not suitable for emergencies. If you have chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, collapse, confusion, severe bleeding, poisoning, or any rapidly worsening condition, seek urgent medical care immediately. Do not use this platform.

1. Not a Substitute for Doctor Consultation

Digital Doctor is a digital guidance platform and does not replace physical medical consultation. Many conditions require a physical examination, investigations, or clinical judgment by a qualified healthcare professional. Digital Doctor cannot provide these.

Using Digital Doctor does not create a doctor-patient relationship between the user and Sineth Hospitals or any associated medical professional.

2. No Confirmed Diagnosis

Digital Doctor does not confirm diagnoses. Symptom patterns described on this platform may be associated with multiple possible conditions, some of which may be serious. The platform provides symptomatic guidance only, not diagnostic conclusions.

Some serious conditions may initially present with symptoms similar to minor illness. If you are uncertain about your symptoms, consult a doctor.

3. For Adults Only

Digital Doctor is designed for adults aged 18 years and above. It is not for use in children. Paediatric symptoms, normal ranges, and treatment considerations differ significantly from adults and are outside the scope of this platform.

4. Sri Lanka Focus

Digital Doctor is designed mainly for Sri Lankan users and the Sri Lankan healthcare setting. Disease patterns, medicine availability, geography, culture, ethnicity, and healthcare access may differ between countries and populations. Therefore, guidance given here may not be suitable for all international users.

5. Medicine Safety Limitations

Medicine guidance provided on this platform uses generic names and general principles. It does not account for all possible individual factors including allergies, current medicines, kidney disease, liver disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or other individual health conditions. Always read medicine labels and consult a pharmacist or doctor if uncertain.

6. Physical Examination May Be Needed

Many conditions cannot be safely assessed without physical examination. This includes but is not limited to abdominal conditions, ear and throat conditions, skin disorders, musculoskeletal problems, and many acute illnesses. Digital Doctor may provide guidance when examination is not available, but this does not mean examination is unnecessary.

7. Investigations May Be Needed

Blood tests, urine tests, imaging, or other investigations may be required to safely assess your condition. Digital Doctor cannot order or interpret investigations. If your symptoms require investigation, please consult a doctor.

8. User Responsibility

By using Digital Doctor, you accept responsibility for your own healthcare decisions. You must seek medical care if symptoms worsen, if warning signs develop, if you are uncertain about your condition, or if your situation changes. This platform cannot monitor your condition or update its guidance based on your response to treatment.

9. Limitation of Liability

Sineth Hospitals and the creators of Digital Doctor have taken reasonable care to provide accurate, safe, and clinically appropriate guidance based on medical protocols reviewed by qualified medical professionals. However, no digital guidance platform can guarantee outcomes or account for all individual circumstances.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sineth Hospitals shall not be liable for any harm, loss, or damage arising from the use of or reliance on information provided by Digital Doctor.
